Wealth Isn’t the Measure of Life

I’ve been thinking lately about the danger of getting too attached to the idea of becoming wealthy.

Don’t get me wrong – I still want a comfortable, even wealthy life. I still believe in investing, growing our assets, and using tools like crypto to move closer to financial freedom. But if we quietly make “being rich one day” the main condition for our happiness… we’re setting ourselves up for a very fragile life.

Because what if it doesn’t happen?

What if the market doesn’t cooperate, or life throws something at us that forces us to slow down, sell, or change plans completely? Does that mean we’re doomed to be miserable? It shouldn’t. Our happiness shouldn’t be held hostage by a future portfolio value that no one can guarantee.

When I write about investing, I’m encouraging financial growth so we can reduce stress, have options, and enjoy a bit more freedom. That’s different from saying: “This is what will make you truly happy in life.” Those are two separate layers, and mixing them up is dangerous.

Money can solve money problems. It can give us time, comfort, and security. But it can’t replace peace of mind, meaningful relationships, health, or a sense of purpose. In fact, if we obsess over getting rich, the journey can easily turn into anxiety, FOMO, and constant comparison.

So my view is this:
Dream of a good, even wealthy life. Be intentional with your investments. Keep learning, keep building, keep compounding. But at the same time, learn to be content now. Enjoy the small wins, the ordinary days, the people around you, even while your financial goals are still a work in progress.

Financial freedom is worth pursuing. Just don’t let the idea of being wealthy steal the happiness that’s already available to you today.

I love taking photos of anything and then share them in my blog. However, I also want to share about my investing journey here in the Hive Blockchain and share my thoughts about crypto & finance.
