This is a lovely, moving interpretation. You lead us to the realization slowly of the tragic circumstance of Nielson's consciousness. So many issues are implicit in this story...the idea of who we are, and what is the essence of awareness. What is real and not real about the present and about our perceptions.
Some great literature has explored the same dilemma.
You did a good job...the essence of Nielson's tragedy is effectively captured by the one "lone" tear that rolls down his cheek.

I second that. A very humane interpretation. Make us think of the nature of human consciousness and about the evolution of humans as species.

I think this story struck a note with a few of the writers. @oivas pointed them in an interesting direction. @phil-glaz is among those who saw the potential.

Thanks a lot)
I told you about the works of Philip Dick and Roger Zelazny ... they look like this one of mine. Only they, of course, did better)

Thank you very much! I was inspired by the old stories of Philip K. Dick.

Wow...not surprised. One of the best science fiction writers of all time. Actually, prophetic. (IMHO)
