Lost in the First Bloom

Magandang buhay💚

Waking up a bit late on a lazy Sunday, I went for a brisk walk outside, which got me spellbound. Peeking in the corner was the first ruffled bloom of our multi-petal hibiscus plant.

"Oh wow..." was all I could breathe out as I approached closer. Has it been two years since we had several stems of them from Papa's yard?

My memory seems to agree. Or maybe not. I recall we had some too, and tried growing them in the Lil Kingdom.

Then we got some more when we came here. We initially planned to have them as hedges along the driveway, but most of them wilted and died. A few, including the one in the corner, made it through after getting transplanted. And now, it has burst, captivating us with its colors.

And oh well, some more tiny buds are also showing off their own unique beauty.

While this isn't my first time seeing such a variety of blooms, it is the first chance to touch and check them up close. I was even more fascinated to notice that a single bud opens up to multiple cotton-like petals.

The darker purple shades lighten up when they burst, turning pinkish (or lavender).

My fascination had me take lots and lots of pictures, because why not? LOL! I'm quite excited to see all those buds burst, yet I also wondered if their blooms will stay vibrant a little longer (we shall see).

Anyway, the sun seems to be having a day off today, and it's alright. The LilGuy could go for a run later. He would be very pleased, for sure. While we had let him out, he hadn't had any good walks (or runs) in weeks. So it's about time he had one!

So beautiful

It is. So nice to have seen its first bloom :)

You could harvest hibiscus, it's full of good properties and here it's used in a lot of commercial drinks or herbal teas

It would be nice to try some hibiscus tea :)

it's good as taste and also healthy

Curated.
