Hello fellow Steemians, Steemists and Steemers!

Welcome to Steem Powered Progress – the ‘teach yourself’ page where months of research and trial and error are condensed into 3 short posts. Be-gone needless internet sifting!

Picking up a new skill can be expensive as well as time consuming. In these post I will provide you a direct link to the tools and resources that I used in order to accomplish my task.

If you haven’t guessed already this first trilogy will be on teaching yourself how to get into shape, get ripped, lose stubborn fat or all the above! The internet can be a daunting and oversaturated market when you’re looking for good clean advice on working out.

This first part of the get ripped set will focus on the different resources I used as the base of my learning.

  • AthleanX – I’m not saving the best till last here. I’m here to save you time, after all. AthleanX is one of the single greatest sources of workout knowledge on the internet. Start here, not only for muscle building and fat loss advice but also extremely useful, unique advice on techniques as well as dietary advice, supplementation and injury management from a qualified physiotherapist and an OVER-qualified personal trainer. Cannot recommend this guy enough.

  • Calisthenicmovement – But you said no gym right? If you don’t feel the need to go to the gym or don’t have any equipment at home then calisthenics is the way for you. Calisthenics is all about bodyweight and this guy is the best in the business. Simple and informative and most certainly cheapest form of working out.

  • A workout routine – Ok so you’ve found the exercises and equipment you like but what about a program to get you in to fighting shape? Look no further. This guy has thought of it all. Fully body split, upper lower split, 4 day split, 5 day splits, rep ranges, sets and tempo… every program under the sun in an easy to follow FREE guide. All the information is right in front of you. Well informed and easy to follow. One small caveat here is that I do disagree with this guys dietary advice but more on that in the next post!

  • Bodybuilding.com – We learn best visually and the neat thing about bodybuilding.com is that it has a full encyclopedia of nearly every move and technique in the game. So if you find yourself look at your workout sheet and thinking “what the hell is a ‘single-arm linear jammer’” then worry not my friend! Bodybuilding.com will have tutorial on it describing exactly what to do and what body part it’ll work. It's all on the database.

  • Arnold Schwarzeneggers Blueprint – Just want a pre-packed workout? Then learn from the best. Seriously guys, this one is unmatched in its ability to make you shredded. People not wanting to go for the ‘bulky look’ this program is still a crazy fat burner. Muscle needs energy to grow, remember, and its eating up all your fat.

  • Honourable mentions – If you’re looking for some of the real tough guys and girls look at Frank Medrano and CT Fletcher’s channels guys. Serious workouts, serious power, serious inspiration.

And that’s it! That’s a wrap for the first part in the series! I hope you enjoyed and that this sets you off on the path to a leaner, meaner you.

I’ll be back next week with a full list of dietary action plans.

Until then all questions are welcome. Let me know how you get on!
