How Intermitent Fasting Saved My Life!

in #fitness7 years ago

I know... we all have been taught that hunger, doesn't tag along muscle growth. And if you think about it, it kinda sounds logic! But it`s not. Our body is programmed to starve since we were caveman hunting down mammoths and avoiding sabertooth tigers.

If you were like me, addicted to the gym, food prepping like crazy, carrying those Tupperware's in your bag and eating every 3 hours (many times even in the bus), fear not, you will finally be able to act like average people again and maintain/increase your gains.

Fasting consists of not eating for a period of 16 hours and eating the rest 8 hours, to get the calories balance up to how much you feel like.

Example: You wake up in the morning, drink coffee and water until 15h00 and than eat the necessary daily calories until 23h00. Go to bed, repeat.

Sounds simple, yeah? But here are the mistakes you will highly likely commit.. I have been there too:

Starting with the most important;

-You are neglecting your long term health by not eating veggies and legumes; remember to get your micronutrients!

-You feel like your muscles will vanish if you`re hungry.
Reset your mindset to accept that being in a starving mode is OK, this is a hard one, but give it a shot, you have to believe it!

-Youre eating too fast and I get it, youre hungry, but its good to be aware of it, take it slow because your stomach will appreciate it.

-You`re forgetting to drink enough water throughout the day, very important!

Stay healthy!

Concluding, this is a load off to your brain, that had to constantly think about food, plus, you now have more time to do other things instead of eating every 3 hours.

I tried it, and it works, it`s just a matter of time to go mainstream.
