How to stay fit and healthy while on holiday?

First of all, I do not recommend bringing your 44lbs kettlebell especially if you want to travel light!

Although I enjoy planning my vacation workouts, I understand that working out when you're supposed to be relaxing doesn't always sound appealing and you shouldn't be too concerned about skipping a few workouts while on holiday. You'll regret missing out on time with your family or exploring the place you're visiting more than skipping out on a workout in the long run.

Remember, exercising entails moving around than you are used to!

So, if you're not like my partner who doesn't care about bringing his 44 bls kettlebell, there are other are things you can do stay fit without spending too much time to burn an "x" amount of calories.

These are my top 5 tips:

1. Do a compound exercise in a short period of time.

I love doing a full body workout in less than ten minutes, sometimes it would only take me about five minutes to do a full body workout. These includes, push ups, plank, jump squats and lunges if doing just body weight. When there is weight I do those workouts with it.

During this trip, since we have the kettle bell, I did three sets of fifteen swings. Swinging the 44 lbs kettle bell is no joke!, and that's all I did for that workout and took me about five four minutes.

2. Go for a walk!

Consider it something you should do rather than something you must do and exploring the place is even more exciting, most of the time you aren't even aware that you are raising your heart rate.

Once I'm settled in, I'm looking forward to exploring the area any time of the day with a walk.

If you're in a walkable area, take advantage of it! Keep in mind that you'll probably walk a lot more just sightseeing than you do in your regular life! We walked all over Jpark Island Resort and this place is huge! It has 16.5 hectares, we walked around in the morning after our first meal and at night time, and never considered ourselves to be exercising.

If you want to take walk on a whole new level, walk on the beach, it's a really good cardio and will help you build stronger calves.

3. Pack some protein powder or bar

While is always tempting to eat like a junkie while on vacation, having a healthy low-calorie, and low-carb protein drink or a protein bar is a better option. Am not saying you don't enjoy your chips and fruit shakes, it's all about being aware of how much food and caloric drinks you intake.

4. Sleep is your best friend!

When we go on a holiday, it's hard to waste our time cuddling in bed the whole time, coz otherwise, you can just stay home in your bed...but, you also have to make sure you get enough sleep while your vacation and night party overnight during your whole vacation. Unless you're going away for a night!

It's a lot easier to stay focus on your fitness goals or whatever goals you have in mind when you get enough sleep.

5. Intermittent Fasting

If you haven't heard of intermittent fasting, you can check out this article. To make it simple, it means you don't consume any calories majority of the day but you don't have to go crazy about this.

For me, I try to do at least a 16-hour window of fasting, that way I burn extra calories and can enjoy the buffets!

Hopefully, this post has given you some ideas about how you can stay fit and healthy while on vacation and still have a good time.
