It was very dark, the surrounding air stifling or was it something else? She found it hard to breathe, like life was been forcefully drawn out of her. She opened her eyes, someone was pressing down on her face with a pillow.
'Shit', she thought, thrashing her limbs aimlessly about, trying to pick whatever her hands could reach. 'who could be trying to kill me"? She tried to focus, even though she knew few minutes was all she had.
She pushed with all her might, barely dislodging the pillow and rolling to her side, landing on the rugged floor. Before she could stand up, the man was on her again, but this time he was trying to strangulate her. She reached up, wrapped her fingers around something (think it was the lamp), and slammed it with all her strength which was not much anyways.
The tight grip on her neck loosened, and she heard a thud on the floor. She tried to get up, atleast to see the face of her assailant, then she heard "wake up, wake up Bisi".
She opened her eyes, for real this time, it wz just a nightmare, again.
