HOW TO LEAD WITH SANDY SOILS
Hello, good morning to all of you, as you will undoubtedly know if, like me, you have a sandy or semi-sandy soil in your garden or backyard, planting any type of plant is extremely difficult and very laborious and results in many failures When growing plants, this is why I would like to share some tricks and tips that will undoubtedly help you.
First let's define the characteristics of a sandy soil:
1- They retain moisture for a short time.
2- They have very few nutrients.
3- Your day temperature is very high while during the night it is very low.
- The fact that they hold moisture for a short time makes the crops require constant irrigation, which is not always possible in some places or with certain types of plants.
- Having few nutrients causes the plants to grow very slowly and are fragile.
- The changes so extreme in temperature makes the seedlings have very little chance of prospering.
Some tips and tricks:
There are several ways to deal with these problems:
1- Planning the garden or garden: It is vital to select crops or plants that are compatible with this type of soil so that it is not necessary to spend much to obtain a beautiful garden or vegetable garden.
2- Change the composition of the soil: If you still want to insist and do not feel comfortable with crops compatible with sandy soil then you must change the composition of the soil, for it the easiest and practical way is to cover the entire surface with at least between 1 and 2 centimeters of organic fertilizer, this will retain for some time more moisture and in turn provide nutrients to the soil, this should be done at least once every 2 weeks for at least 3 months and watering every day on the surface with enough water especially in the hottest hours.
3- In addition to all the above, it is necessary to collect seedlings or pots to grow the seedlings until they are transplanted to the ground.
