Last year my son gave me a colouring book. I don't know where he got the idea... maybe he remembered that we used to colour together when he was little and that I liked to take over that part when there were a lot of small details to colour... Oh my, that was quite a long time ago, really, maybe only when he was in kindergarten or in the first grades of his elementary school, because later I didn't help him with his homework anymore. Was I a bad mom, neglecting my son's homework? I don't know... maybe... and maybe it's due to the fact that I always worked in the afternoons when he was home with his dad, who used to help with math and science. Perhaps it was also a decision my husband and I took not to supervise all his homework, and especially not to do his homework instead of him, as children also need to learn that, to take care of their responsibilities.

In any case, I didn't ask the reason why I got this colouring book from my son; maybe he just liked the flowers he saw on the cover of the colouring book or because he knows that I also fancy kindness rocks. However, with moving last year in the autumn and all the other stuff I was occupied with, there was no time to sit down and just paint. Until now! :))

So, my favourite place these days (late in the evening) is to sit outside on the balcony because there is a nice breeze, and I need it after a hot day spent outside or staying inside with the air conditioning. Finally, this colouring book caught my attention two days ago. The empty spaces that are meant to become colourful flowers, butterflies, and other little creatures will come alive exactly there, on the balcony.
That has one drawback, though, with that late evening thing - at one moment, you don't even notice it immediately, but slowly it becomes dark. 🤷♀
And then, dangerous creatures crawl out of their night chambers and slink in the darkness, all you hear is their evil, muffled laughter as they approach to steal your carefree thoughts you find a little lamp which brings you the needed light and continue to think about nothing and colour. Oh, what a therapy this is!! 😇

The FC Barcelona pencil holder is something that I am sure @palomap3 would like to see here. Actually, it is my son's pencil holder and his markers (except two that are mine) that I used for the first page of the colouring book. That is what I did the first evening.

There are many ways we can give ourselves this therapy of doing something that is not directly "useful" - looking at the activity from a conventional side. But it is useful in the way that you just stop and calmly look at those dangerous creatures, even if they have that evil, muffled laughter, you fight back with some bright pinks and yellows; red, blue or purple are also there, dots and lines - what a great battle and victory over darkness and a white page haha. 😂

@mdrguez - look how many flowers! 😁🌼

What beautiful flowers!! So much color on that page. The perfect therapy for your late in the evening. Your son was so right to give you that coloring book.
We also stopped helping Olivia with her homework when she was still very young. That was her responsibility and as such she had to deal with it. I think it was a good decision, not bad parents at all!!!
Recuerda mantener siempre la luz encendida y los colores vibrantes para que las criaturas de la oscuridad con risas malvadas, no roben tus pensamientos. Un abrazo 🤗
We did well with our kids then 😉 How would they learn to be independent if not through letting them do their own things by themselves?
Flowers :D and the next page are butterflies, but I don't have time today for that as I will have a busy weekend. 🚗 🎶 Sí, la luz y los colores vibrantes son buenas armas 🤗
Las mariposas llegarán cuando deban 😉. Muchas cosas lindas para tu ocupado fin de semana 🤗

Thanks 😊
I think letting your son do his homework is just right. At least, he can be more responsible with it. Maybe that helps no, now that he's older? And this is such a sweet gift. I Think coloring it will be therapeutic. And now I also want one 🤔. It looks fun. But if I bought this, I also need to buy a colored pencils haha. But still, it looks really fun. 😆
Yes, you would need coloured pencils then too, but it is relaxing and fun, so go for it! ;))
Son, yes, I think it definitely helps in the growing up and maturing.
We also have a coloring book like this.
My wife painted her half, my half is still waiting for me 😃
Half half? Well, maybe this weekend is the time you can colour it ;)
The balcony sounds like the perfect spot, especially with that evening breeze. It must be relaxing after a busy day. And those flowers and butterflies you're coloring look amazing.
Thanks, it is rewarding to see while you colour how the page changes 😇
Yes, I love the pencil holder! And the results of your therapy too, I like how you coloured them. I have a
forgottenmandalas colouring book that I rescue from time to time. It’s relaxing and a good plan for these hot days. I’m dealing with them watching films and TV series. Now I’m watching the Squid Game and I’m hooked!Mandalas are so relaxing and therapeutic! And this pencil holder as well ;D
We just finished watching a difficult movie now, en TVE 2, La voz dormida...
I haven't seen it, but I'll make a note to do so. Thanks for the tip!
Good evening @mipiano, battle won against the monsters of darkness. I really like the way the colour scheme turned out. I'm going to see if I can get a bit of a breeze around here too.
Best regards.
Good evening @enraizar, yes, it was a battle won. Every day there is a battle, it means - we need to colour our world day by day 😉
I hope you got to feel the breeze. 🍀
Good morning @mipiano... you know, it got cooler here tonight. Happy Saturday!
Good morning @enraizar
That is great to hear that it got cooler. We also felt that the last two nights it was better, just for one or two degrees lower but better.
Hol @mipiano, let's hope that these temperatures are maintained in the evenings. I hope you have a great Saturday.
My aunt loved colouring books, said it was very relaxing!
Sitting outside with a small lamp is an open invitation to the monstrous bugs, but you survived to tell the tale😅
Have a happy weekend @mipiano 😊
Hahaha, those bugs didn't come close, the fun with this colouring book was the repellent 😁
Thank you @lizelle, and happy weekend to you too!! 😇
It's the best solution to ward off those evil creatures with their macabre laughter that appear at night. Luckily, the lamp came to save you, allowing you to see colours clearly and enjoy a moment of relaxation, peace and lots of colour... I've never tried it... just like you... but I have blank canvases by my side!😘
As I just said to Erikah, it would be cool if we drew the lines for flowers and shapes we want to colour. You are the pro in this field, you don't even have to practice as I should haha, your drawings and paintings are always artistic! 😇
This colouring book is just a little mental therapy, or side effects of some medicine 😂. Ok, just a joke, I enjoyed colouring these flowers. On the next page, there are butterflies, but I want to have nicer colours. Maybe I can try with the acrylic markers used for the pebbles
Oh! Butterflies! I'll wait for that, yes, yes, yes, yes!
When I taught painting classes, I used to draw things for my students. They wanted to paint, not draw, and they learned very well. It's a form of therapy with no side effects, only good effects for everything.
I hope so, although I already started to see dots in front of my eyes 😂
Well... it's an effect that wears off in two days... I hope!
I still see the little dots on some petals. 🤔 Ok, will try to look at the page again tomorrow, maybe the dots from the petals disappear 😜
Effect lasts 48 hours, don't despair😂
I have one too, it's been sitting on the shelf for 10 years or so and was thinking today, that it's time to dust it down and use it, then I saw your post 😎
Let's color 😀
What a coincidence! Or should we call it a clear sign you have to grab it too? ;)) Enjoy the summer and colouring 😇
This weekend I need to clean the whole flad, but next week is mine and I'm sure the coloring book will get a special place in it 😎
I think it would be even better if we were the ones who drew the lines (flowers, mandalas, anything) and then colour in. I vaguely remembered you making a mandala... ok I found that post now, it was a mandala for a tote bag :)
Yes!! I made a tote for my niece.
You're right, we could make the drawings too. One of my dreams is to make coloring books 😎
Btw, I have my drawing tablet, so it is finally time to resume the creative work.
After the cleaning activities, the creative work can start!! 😇
🎉🎉🥳 Congratulations 🥳🎊🎊
