lately i been looking at my google pixel and thinking, 'that's kinda heavy.. do i really need that much phone?
i hardly even make calls. but i think i do NEED a phone.. for emergency as well as regular daily use.
but instead of a smartphone (5-7 oz), how about a flip (dumb) phone. (1 oz)
i was just watching a vid on youtube and in it a guy is talking about what he uses his phone for..
personally, i don't even use my phone for all that he does. like shopping.. never.
but there are so many cool and light devices that could replace needed (or not needed) things such as this little ereader..
for me. i just use my phone for, u ready for this.. call and txt. i know, crazy right??
i also use a few apps, but do i really need that to live on my phone? idk.
I grew up in a time when there were no mobile phones. That definitely had its advantages, especially when you were on vacation. When you were away, you simply weren't reachable. Nobody expected an immediate reply, and the world kept turning just fine without us.
Today, I use my smartphone for messages, emails, authentication for other services, photos, appointments, navigation, games, and my finances. It's hard to imagine everyday life without it.
Simply put: back then, many things took longer, and that was perfectly fine. Today, things often can't happen fast enough.
sounds heavenly. i am an 80's baby (actually born in 1974) so i caught the end of that era.. i also use mt phone like u do.. verification and google maps and to constantly redeem those cool ecency pnts. (notifications too)

Using a smartphone just for calls and texts is like buying a sports car to drive to the sari-sari store. 😂 But honestly, if it works for you, why carry all that extra weight?
I do use ecency app tho..
I need my phone for online payments. But if I don't have fund, sorry. 🤣
