This is my first post but rather than doing an intro about myself, I’m sharing something well associated with where I’m from - Singapore. One of the thing we are known for in Singapore is “food”. We host a variety of local and international food offering low budget to premium price to satisfy different gastronomic pleasures. In a land that is fully wired and wified (if there's such word), we are in no shortage of food bloggers. If you have been to Singapore, I’m sure one of the thing you miss is our food.
Last weekend, I visited one of the events of the Singapore Food Festival 2016.
This year, the annual affair falls on 15 - 31 July, 2016. Find out more about this festival here: http://www.yoursingapore.com/festivals-events-singapore/annual-highlights/singapore-food-festival.html
While the event last weekend was planned for 1700h to 2230h, there was already a small crowd at about 1630h. Tables were set by the pier with a great view of the Marina Bay.
Certainly beats dining in an expensive restaurant nearby for the view although the food at the stalls is hardly what you consider low budget.
As the clock continues to tick, the crowd grew bigger and it is no easy feat finding a table with free seats.
The event for this coming weekend 23 – 24 July is at Timbre+, One-north (Fusionopolis), 73A Ayer Rajah Crescent, S(139957). I probably won’t make it there but here’s more information: http://www.yoursingapore.com/festivals-events-singapore/annual-highlights/singapore-food-festival/open-stoves.html
The interesting deal in the last weekend this July is “THE 50 CENTS FEST”

TIP: Going by the experience from previous food festival events…. Likely that those that requires reservation will be crowded. Those not requiring reservation will be more crowded. So, go early to grab a seat.
However, if it’s food you are after rather than the crowd and food fest experience, you may be interested to know about the recently Michelin tagged places. So, take a pick from the eating outlets from here:

There is a PDF list I downloaded from somewhere if you want to save it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_Vobbbee7gyR1RlNERHREZrYWM/view?usp=sharing
Perhaps, I should pop this list into Google maps when I have time – if there is any interest.

I've been shanghai few years back. not a bad place. think should be able to find south east asian food if you look hard enough. good luck.
I lived in Singapore for two years; kept a blog called "the S$7 thing (the seven sing thing)", where I wrote about meals that were less than $7. Love Singapore hawker centers, and especially poh pia (that's one of your pics right?). Welcome to Steemit!
Have an American friend who lived in SG for more than 6 months. He called it Chinese burrito. It was quite hilarious.
