Ball shaped Semolina Sweet / Rava Laddoo

in #food7 years ago

Hello friends,

As I posted earlier a recipe of Kaju Katli for the coming festive season, I bring yet another delicacy from India which is very easy to prepare and has a great taste to satisfy our sweet tooth. I usually prepare these laddoos (ball shaped sweet) during the Ganesh Utsav festival as laddoos are considered Lord Ganesha's favorite sweet.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup Rava / Semolina
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 tbsp grated coconut
  • 2 tbsp Ghee / Clarified butter
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 5 cashews, 5 almonds, and 10 raisins
  • 4-5 small elaichi / cardamom

METHOD:

Take a pan, add ghee to it. Fry the Cashews, Almonds, raisins till golden brown, and keep them aside.

Now add Rava in the fried ghee and saute on low flame, when the rava turns aromatic, add grated coconut to it and saute them together for 1 minute.

Now switch off the flame and allow it to cool to room temperature.

Meanwhile, In another pan add sugar and water and prepare the syrup / chashni on low flame. Stir till you get one string consistency.

Now we add the dry fruits and sugar syrup to the roasted rava and stir continuously to avoid lumps.

When warm enough, prepare laddoos with your palm and Rava laddoos are ready to serve.

It hardly takes 15-20 minutes to cook this delicious Indian desert which is mouth-watering and too yummy in taste.
