Korean Food, Why so Expensive?

in #foodlast year

One of my favorite things to eat is Korean BBQ and all the side dishes that come with your lunch or dinner. I jave never figured out why Korean restaurants seem to be more expensive than other restaurants. The meats they use are not high dollar. The ingredients are fairly simple and easy to source so the higher prices dont make sense, at least around where I live. There are probably about 6-8 Korean places to eat in my city but today i got a chance to go with my friend Joe to our favorite spot. What a feast we had!

The beef Bulgogi and Kal-bi ribs are the cornerstone of Korean BBQ.

This spicy Kimchi jjigae stew is right on the money when its cold outside. Served boiling hot and with Rice.

The side dishes are fun and they are always different. Lots of things to try. I dont like 2 or 3 but the others are fantastic.

All the food looks good and one of my favorites is beef bulgogi. It's probably been over a year since I had Korean. I don't think it will be another year 😋

Actually I missed to see a short video with this post as you usually share. Hopefully next time you’ll share a short video with more about your beautiful lifestyle.

I enjoy updates from you so I'm here for you. BBQ is my favorite but I'm not allowed to eat it as doctor suggested. Have fun!!!

I always hear Korea food are delicious

All this food looks very interesting and the way we see it, a lot of effort has been put into making it and very special spices are used, maybe that's why it costs a little bit more. It looks so delicious in the story, I'm dying to eat it too and see how it's made.

I agree with you on expensive. There are a few really good ones near me. It’s usually a couples thing we do, but I really enjoy most of the food. I had some crazy side one time that tasted like melted plastic, it was rough.

Wow, how good the food looks, until now I haven't tried such a dish, I think the difference can be made by the spices used, here in Romania we can have different places with Asian, Mediterranean, Thai food, but the taste can never be the same as in the country of origin, that's my opinion.

very good appetite friend enjoy your Korean barbecue a little different from how we usually know it but it looks very good

Maybe its the quantity that makes it so expensive lol.

I've come to learn that Koreans make great TV shows as well as food. Lol. I liking a lot of the shows and movies coming out of the country.

traditionally Korean food has been expensive in much of the world, here in Argentina the prices are very high compared to other restaurants
The dishes look delicious. excellent choice
have a beautiful sunday

this well-done meat, it seemed to be very tasty, what is the average value of a meal like this?

They probably use some exotic spices that make them more expensive Or its because the make them so f..ing delicious

Looks very yummy and tasty :)

Looks delicious! BBQ is one of my fav!

That beef looks amazing! Done just the way I like it!

The two Asian food that I think is always expensive everywhere are Japanese and Korean; I tried both here in our city and I must say... I like Korean BBQ more than the other. A good reason is because of the side dishes. Last month, I and my siblings went to a good Korean restaurant.

It's really expensive to other local restaurants; the BBQ meat isn't better than what I had when I tried a Japanese version. However, I really like the side dishes and it's free. The best part is that I can keep asking the waiters to give me more of the side dishes and they just bring them to our table without question.

For me, it's the experience that matters more than the food itself.

Good and healthy foods are quite expensive and just looking at the pictures the foods are attractive despite that they are not my country food, may one day I will be in a position to try Korean foods.

I've never been to Korea and I don't know the taste of the food there, but seeing the food you show looks very good, maybe because of the good taste that's why the price is a bit more expensive. :) By the way, when I saw the food you shared, it felt like my stomach was hungry.

Looks amazing. Out Korean BBQ just wen out of business. Need to find another.

Korean meals has very delicious taste and especially Korean BBQ interetsing to me. You were lucky to take meals with beloved friend. In my state Korean meals can find rarely but expensive. I hope you have enjoyed lot with meals.

everything looks delicious and the best thing is the amount of garnishes there is an incredible variety. In addition, the fact that there are so many Korean Barbecue places indicates that they are very popular and hence their slightly higher price.

Wow these looks so delicious. Korean BBQ seems mouth watering and I can look for the recipe of it in the internet. You always come with something awesome and these delicious food blog is one of them. Hope you enjoyed your meal. Have a nice day!

I love to enjoy meat with that golden texture on the outside and juicy on the inside, it looks really delicious! I imagine the delicious contrast that each of the garnishes must provide, I think that rice is the ideal accompaniment for spicy flavors, I feel that they provide the perfect balance on the palate. A tasty meal is enjoyed more if we are accompanied by good friends.
I wish you happy dreams, a big hug! @broncnutz

Looks delicious. The quality dictates the price I guess.

I think the name and tradition of this food may apply for higher price!!

The dish looks so nice and yummy, I really wish I could get some to taste.

They are expensive for sure, they must have taste yummier, this why they are selling food in high prices, It's all about the taste. Here in my city, we have different places that are offering the same kind of dishes but their taste is different and they price is also different.

Love all this food 😍

@tipu curate

It looks very delicious indeed.

Here in Monagas, Venezuela, a meal like this costs about 15 dollars.

this was over 60.00

We have talked about the same thing!

As wonderful as Asian food is, it is supposed to be cheap! Indian food (or, as they call it in India 'food') is meant to be ingested by a nation of a Billion and a half people, most not very well off.

Can't say too much because we have an Indian and a thai and a thai/indian restaurant as clients but still!

Speaking of which, now I am hungry!

Healthy food for good health good food for good health and good health for good life

Sometimes traditional food are always expensive due to the quality recipes and maybe a very nutritional benefits
@broncnutz am sure you enjoy the meal

Oh my goodness this look good in the eye am sure it's tasty 😋😋😋 friend @broncnutz

That looks like a really tasty mix, to be honest we don't have many Korean restaurants here in Ireland. Japanese yep, Indian yep, Thai yep, Chinese yep, but Korean not ao much. Based on those photos though and your description I'd definitely like to check one out, so will be on the lookout!

As for the price, I find that price usually is proportional to quality.
