Smallest MCDs ever.

in #foodlast year

Huko, Taiwan, finally had a MCDs. There’s a catch, it’s super small.

I’ve been told that location is everything, which is true to a point, but size does matter when you are looking for a place to sit with some friends and talk. Which is one reason why this restaurant doesn’t make sense.

The closest two other MCDs are about a 15 minute drive if opposite directions, literally. They are both quite large and two stories.

This one is one story with a handful of very small tables.

In the picture above that’s the inside of the restaurant. That’s it. If you saw where I was standing, it was a pick up line with nothing but a wall.

While it does have a drive thru, it doesn’t really make sense since it lacks the resources for the line that it generates. The cars will back up on the two lane street. In the first picture, you can judge the width of the building by the scooters stacked in front (no parking lot).

The only advantage of this facility, is that it’s across from the only covered basketball location and civic exercise track. This almost guarantees a good flow of customers. But it will be interesting to see how it fairs over time since the same street has a 7-11 with plenty of seating and a good selection of food and a soon to open Starbucks.
