How food affects in various performances of the child

in #food7 years ago (edited)

We always wonder why some children study well and active whereas the others remain sluggish and always be behind the intelligent students. Intelligence may come from genetics to some extent but the major thing that may influence kids to enhance their cognitive skills is through a sufficient nutrients rich food.

Almost every parent needs his or her child to be in a top position when he/she grows up. But are they equipping the child with adequate amount of facilities he needs? Many parents nowadays are not aware of how high sugar and low nutrient food affects the child. In addition, we can see a significant number of kids are consuming fast food as their meal instead of any traditional diet.

Researchers states that students who eat more fast food which contains cheap ingredients with more sugar and fat, and less nutrients are more likely to suffer not only problems related to obesity but also related to cognitive skills and academics. This is because it lacks in a key nutrient, iron, that stimulate brain to develop cognitive skills.

Therefore, a healthy food, which is a mixture of proteins and nutrients, at least during breakfast, facilitates children to grow well and flourish in all the required streams. In addition, educating children on how food breaks down and why we eat food in detail helps them to understand the correct idea of having food.

On the other hand, marketing especially food and beverage industry even plays a major role to inculcate certain habits to the children. They do many sophisticated and appealing ads in order to persuade children to buy the product or ask their parents to buy. These appealing ads influence rate of obesity in many countries, and children and adolescents who consume these products are vulnerable to many catastrophic diseases such as heart disease, and diabetes in their early ages.

Our children and youth are bombarded with ads for unhealthy products all day, every day, influencing their food and beverage choices. This is having a devastating effect on their health and setting up conflict at home. Source

Concisely, avoiding foods such as high fat content foods, high sugar, and salt, whereas increasing foods with high nutrients will eventually enhance the performance of the kid in various fields with healthier body. If food plays such an important role in reinforcing the child’s life with success, we should certainly implement a quality food for his/her.

Yes I agree with you, my son is 3! And I found this post is indeed most helpful!

Excellent post You are right, healthy and balanced nutrition is very important for the child's cognitive development and growth. I believe, like you, that we must educate and instill in our children good eating habits, and this is an unavoidable task since the media in their commercials promote foods that are not healthy for children. Another determining factor in a good diet for children is the income of parents, unfortunately there are countries such as Haiti, Cuba, Venezuela and some of Africa where poverty and scarcity does not allow to give good food to their children, resulting in problems of nutrition, low school performance. Greetings. I follow him.
