I Have an Irrational Fear of Hornets and Wasps.

I am sure it was linked to my childhood when a hive of yellow jackets decided to make me there walking pin cushion when I ran my tricycle into their nest. Maybe it was the time a light blue hornet stung my brother so bad that he had a gusher!

So when I see an image of a venus flytrap snacking on a hornet it warms my heart. Who said, "plants don't eat meat"?

Love to see the look on that hornet's face. What's the biggest thing those plants can eat?

I used to get stung at least 5 times every summer when I was a kid. My parents said it was because I had a sweet smell. Still don't know if they were joking haha

It is quite possible since bees love anything sweet.

I have a phobia of wasps, bees, hornets and the like.. If I'm around and a yellow jacket flies by or if I'm near a nest and one comes near.😉😉

I have been sting by a wasp, right in the throuth. Always have been scared that I would be allergic to wasp. But I did survive it without have to go to the ER.
Still I do hate them. For sure the killer wasp, which could grow to 5 centimers. Scary as hell.
We do have a lot of lavender in the garden. So we do have a lof of bumblebees and regular bees in the garden. But I don’t fear them!

Oh that poor frog! Although I've seen frogs snacking on our koi fish, so they can be aggressors too.

Hope we can also catch the insects on our blockchain like this... We need such techniques..

Simply amazing.
I wonder how it is going to chew and digest this frog :O

I'm afraid of spiders!

This is the scariest thing of plants.

a very good post and a friend's video

The Nature is wise

-cheers-

omg that frog will be there forever ewewwww

Funny how a bee sting comes on slowly as a delayed reaction but a wasp or hornet sting begins to hurt like hell the moment of contact.

I used to open the gate to a Tropical Fruit Nursery every Saturday morning in Homestead, FL. Often, some kind of little paper wasps would build their nests there. And they always stung right between the eyebrows, like they really meant business! Instant pain, anger and loathing!
