Chinese Remedy for Nasal Allergy (Chinese Angelica Soup 白芷淮山湯) - Original for Steemit

in #food7 years ago (edited)

My brother and I just came back from Australia to Hong Kong recently, and we are both suffering from heavy nasal allergy. For the past three weeks, we have been taking heavy doses of antihistamine, like xyzal, zrytec and telfast, but it still didn't work. Until yesterday, I decided to try an old Chinese remedy for Nasal Allergy for the first time.

To prepare this soup, I washed the following the ingredients and blanched the pork to remove the dirt and smell.  I then boiled it with slow fire for two hours. You may season the soup with salt before you serve. My brother enjoyed the soup very much, thankfully! This is his first time not to refuse to drink it (Normally he's reluctant to drink Chinese Herbs/ Medicine)!

This soup tastes a little bit like the Malaysian Bak kut the 肉骨茶, you'll feel warmer after drinking it.

Both of us didn't take any antihistamine for the first time in a few weeks, and we felt our nasal allergy has been relieved especially this morning. This nasal allergy remedy is especially useful for people who's afraid of cold and have clear and watery mucus.
