Filipino Native Delicacies

in #food6 years ago (edited)

Hi Steemit friends!

I will be sharing you photos of my favorite Filipino delicacies that I took during my recent trip to Dumaguete. These delicacies can be found anywhere in the Philippines but I chose to post these today since I had the chance to hoard them because of their cheap prices in Dumaguete City!

Puto Kutsinta are brown-colored Filipino rice cakes that are soft and chewy. They are made of flour, tapioca starch and brown sugar. It is usually topped with grated coconut.

B. Biko Latik

Biko Latik is a Filipino delicacy that is sweet, sticky and chewy. It is made of glutinous sticky rice topped mixed with coconut milk and brown sugar. It is then topped with Latik. Latik is a local syrup made of carmelized brown sugar mixed with coconut cream.

C. Sapin-Sapin

Sapin-sapin is a colorful layered dessert in the Philippines. It is, again, made up of glutinous rice with coconut milk and some food coloring and flavoring. It can be topped with grated coconut or crushed peanuts depending on preference. It is sweet to taste, chewy and sticky in texture.

These are some of the Filipino desserts I hoarded during my Dumaguete trip. Each bite of these mouth-watering desserts are priced at only 5-10 pesos each! Hope you enjoyed reading my post!
