On the Valentine's day of all days @jospiration and me had nothing to do but stroll in one of the local malls, Ayala Center Cebu (Don't get us wrong, a couple on a Valentine's Day has the evening planned out). Amazingly this was the first time the two of us are at the mall on a weekday, it is really tough to go to the mall on weekdays because of the kind of work we have. We are walking like we are lost in the mall , after a full 30 mins of strolling we are now at the new expansion wing, and I told @jospiration we should eat some sylvanas at Briquito Sylvanas
For those of you who are not familiar with this kind of dessert, sylvanas are one of the unique desserts here in the Philippines known to Visayas and some parts in Mindanao, this is a cookie sandwich with wafers for the base, the base covers the entire sandwich with filling of different kinds. This dessert is served frozen.

The presentation of the sylvanas are the same as presenting ice cream flavors and by looking at them you will have the same sensation as grabbing all the flavors at once. Amazingly, all sort of people line up just to have a taste. Now you might be thinking "is it the same with ice cream?", I am here to tell you NO!, it is nothing like ice cream.
Briquito Sylvanas are serving there Sylvanas in pairs, this is good marketing with the Valentine's Day atmosphere, so we decided to buy two pairs, one pair would be White Chocolate & Almond and Choco Hazelnut Brownie, the other order is Dark Choco Macadamia and Chunky Red Velvet. The staff at the shop had that friendly vibe in giving us our orders, this is a good thing for any dessert shop, quality character is a plus factor in selling any kind of merchandise, specially desserts.
The Dark Choco Macadamia was covered in macadamia nuts carefully sprinkled with different sizes, the chocolate wafer was half dipped with dark chocolate to add the appearance that the sylvanas was kissed by dark chocolate and as you bite down to the frozen chocolate wafer, dark chocolate burst out of wafer. Chunky Red Velvet was covered in small cuts of Red Velvet cake, at the same time sprinkled with Red Velvet cake. As you bite down the frozen chocolate wafer a rush of vanilla floods your mouth. The sylvanas might be small in size but each bite allows you to really savor the flavor.
