Cooking With a Twist of Coconut Milk

in #food6 years ago

Bicolanos are known for cooking using coconut milk or gata. And its really delicious!!! And when dinner with family on a weekend includes trying a different kind of recipe, it includes a dish that we seldom eat. Because we can get together and eat good food, I always cook dinners that we all seldom taste and here's my new recipe that we all enjoyed eating together.

Ginataang Pusit/ Squid in coconut milk

Ingredients:

6 cloves garlic, minced
3 pcs onions,sliced
1 klo fresh squid
1pc. turmeric/luya, sliced
5 pcs. green chili
salt to taste
pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Sautee first the garlic, onions and turmeric/luya in oil. The turmeric/luya removes the fishy smell of the squid.

  1. When the garlic, onions and turmeric/luya is brownish, put the sliced squid and cook it together.

  1. When the squid is already half cooked, you can already pour the coconut milk and let it boil for a few minutes.

  1. Simmer for a few minutes then add the chili for a taste of spice. Enjoy!!!
