In East Java, you can find chicken penyet which is similar concept with geprek chicken: chicken that has been spice up, fried to brown, then dipenyet with sauce that has been made before. While in Central Java, geprek chicken including favorite dishes, complete with spicy onion chili with a kick flavor and aroma of onion.
