Social eating, is becoming a trending stuff here in Nigeria, we rather hang out with friends and eat food cooked by others from restaurant to cinema and also fast foods.
Studies have shown that properly home cooked meal is more nutritional than those we tend to purchase outside.
Here are some of the benefits of home cooking:

  • by cooking your meals by yourself, you tend to save money. It is known that when food is purchased, the bill is not only for the food, but also the building rent,staff salary,even the electricity bill.
    To save money, it is recommended for one to have a food plan, to restrict buying from outside. Also leftover should be stored in the freezer.

-more nutritional supplements are gotten when food is cooked by ones self. Outside food tends to high in sugar,salt and mostly fats.when yu cook by yourself you know exactly what ingredients you need.

-home cooking help one to cultivate healthy feeding habits. This is through knowledge gained about food, recipes discovered and nutritional rich supplements. You learn what is good and what is not.

-cooking yourself would help you savor food.you will appreciate the food you consume. Since you are aware of what you consume, you would tend to dislike overeating.

Something else I'd like to add is that cooking is not reserved for the woman only. Men should pick up the habit of cooking, because this could help in building your family.
