German Food. Yes, we like sausages.

today a very uncomon post in my blog. Some FOOD...
I thought I present you some food that is quite unknown. Even among germans. The origin of this meal is Franken (eng: Franconia)

This is a region north of munich.

This is the region the family of my girlfriend is from and therfore she knows how to cook the following meal:

Of course this meal contain sausages :) More precisly : Nürnberger Bratwürste (eng: Nuremberger rib steak sausage ). In Germany you call it:

Saure Zipfel (eng: there is not clear translation. Probably something like: sour sausages )

You serve the sausages on top of Kartoffelpüree (eng: mashed potatoes) and and with a Zwiebelsoße (eng: onion sauce). Special about this meal is that the sauce has a lot of vinegar and is pickled for a few hours.

It is a very special taste and outside of Franconia it is quite unknown. But if you have the chance to taste it here in Germany..go for it. If you want to cook it yourself, I can advice you to go to this Link (click me) and use google translator. :)
