Binangkal is one of the oldest delicacies in Cebu, Philippines. It is a sesame-covered doughnut balls that came in any variety of shape you want. It is deep fried until crisp and brown on the outside.

Ingredients:

*2 1/2 cups of flour
*1/4 tsp of salt
*1/2 tsp of baking soda
*2 tsp of baking powder
*3/4 brown sugar
*2/3 cups of water
*2 tsp of oil
Sesame seeds or Lunga in Cebuano

Procedure
Sift together dry ingredients.
Mix brown sugar, water and oil then add to flour mixture. Mix until blended well.
Using a teaspoon, take small bits of batter then roll in sesame seeds.
Fry in deep hot oil until golden brown.

Making binangkal requires patience, time and extra strength. You need a strong arm in mixing the dough if you do it with hands as it becomes sticky and stiff.

If you don't want to be tired in baking, some of the bakery in Visayas and Mindanao are selling Binangkal.

Enjoy eating!
