Wheatgrass Juicer

Wheatgrass is a plant that has many healthful benefits. Research has shown that wheatgrass can aid in growth and fertility. That being said many people want to take advantage of the plant but no one wants to eat grass. In order for humans to consume this plant many actually juice it.

There are many juicers on the market but finding one that is the best for juicing wheatgrass may take some time. Two different catagories of wheatgrass juicers can be found, manual and electric.

The manual juicers have a hand crank on them and have to mounted on something in order to be stable. An example of a wheatgrass manual juicer is the Handy Pantry HJ Hurricane Stainless Steel Manual Wheatgrass Juicer. This particular juicer can be mounted on countertops without using any screws that could damage your counter. It can juice up to 1oz. per minute. The good thing about a manual juicer is the fact that you can go as slow as you need to so that you do not lose any nutrients. Sometimes going too fast can cause a loss of nutrients from the wheatgrass.

Next we have the electric juicer. Now, as I said, if a juicer goes too fast you can lose nutrients but there are some electric juicers that are worth looking at. An example of one of these is the VonShef Wheatgrass Slow Juicer. As its name suggests this juicer goes slower that most other wheatgrass juicers. It has what is called a low speed extraction method. While this juicer still does its job quickly and quietly it also goes slow enough to have the least amount of nutrient loss.

So, when you are thinking about purchasing a juicer there are a few things that you need to consider in order to choose the right one for your needs.

Things to Consider:

Which do I have time for, manual or electric?
What about space, do I have room for an electric juicer or to mount a manual juicer?

These are just two important points to consider when shopping for a wheatgrass juicer. As to which one is best, that depends entirely on your needs and tastes.

With a manual juicer you are actually saving electricity and by saving that you save money. However, it does take a little more time than the electric juicer. You also have to have a certain space to accomodate a manual juicer, countertop no more than 2 1/4 inches thick.

With the electric juicer you will use more electricity and therefore might spend a little more in the long run. However, by using an electric juicer you save on time. Again, you have to make sure you have space to accomodate the juicer you choose.

Some wheatgrass juicers will also juice other greens and some fruits. If you want to use your juicer for more than wheatgrass then make sure to look into what foods the juicer is capable of handling. The ones I mentioned above are just examples, the market for juicers is a large one and growing every day.
