Today I will present you a delicious recipe to prepare golfeados, one of those typical Venezuelan snacks that is enjoyed with a delicious coffee with milk, a piece of Guyanese cheese and the respective golfeados recently baked and very warm! For without further ado let's go step by step to prepare these delicacies.
Ingredients:
• 1 teaspoon salt.
• 1 teaspoon vanilla.
• 1 egg.
• 1 cup of sugar.
• 1 cup of warm milk.
• 2 teaspoons of anise seeds.
• 3 teaspoons of yeast.
• 3 cups of wheat flour.
• 500g of shredded paper.
• 500g of grated cheese.
• 90g of butter.
-Preparation for yeast-
Ingredients:
• 1 cup of warm milk.
• 1/2 cup of sugar.
• 3 teaspoons of yeast.
-Preparation:
Step # 1: Add to our cup of warm milk the 3 teaspoons of yeast and place the sugar.
Step n ° 2: Mix in an enveloping manner and after the yeast is completely dissolved, cover and place in a cool, warm space with little illumination for 1 hour to activate the ferment.
-Preparation for the dough -
Step n ° 1.1: We add in a bold the fermented yeast to our 3 cups of wheat flour,
We add the pinch of salt,
The 1/2 cup of sugar remaining,
The egg,
The teaspoon of vanilla,
We add the 90g of butter,
Finally we put our sweet anise seeds and mix until it is fully compacted and form a sphere with our dough,
Cover and leave for 45 minutes for the dough to double its volume.
Step n ° 2.2: After having passed the 45 minutes, we placed a bit of wheat flour sifted on our base where we will make the golfeados and begin to stretch our dough with a rolling pin.
Step n ° 3: Having the desired size of our stretched dough, we take 1/2 cup of shredded paper and dissolve it in a little warm water to give moisture and flavor to the dough.
Step n ° 4: We take 250g of grated cheese and start with the first layer,
Now add our layer of paper that is uniform with the cheese and wrap to move to the cuts.
Step n ° 5: to be ready our golfeados arm, we take a piece of thread of 15cm and we made cuts from the middle and so progressively of each half we took a cut until our golfeados of about 3cm
Step n ° 6: We passed one by one to our tray greased and floured and then let raise its volume tapaditos for about 30 minutes, put the remaining 250g of grated cheese, we went to our oven preheated to 180 ° for 45 minutes.
