Germany have announced thier squad for friendlies against Spain and Brazil and the quality accross the team is one that should strike fear in opposition’s hearts.

Joachim Low announced the squad on Thursday, consisting of 26 players and there are some notable absentees chief amongst them is first choice goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer who is yet to recover from an injury sustained last year. Reus is another player with injury issues this season and despite making his comeback recently, he has been left out of the squad alongside club teammate, Mario Gotze.

The talent in the squad is beautifully spread accross every area of the pitch. In goal, Marc Andre Ter Stegen has been imperious for Barcelona all season while Bayern Munich duo, Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng will are excellent defenders who are more than capable of clean slate of clean sheets.

The German midfield is arguably the best in international football. Toni Kroos is a midfield metronome who proven time and time again that he is a class above his peers while Emre Can and Sami Khedira provide supreme dynamism and security at the base in the center. Ozil is always probing opposition defences with his excellent movement while his incisive passing pierces defences with such elegance and grace. On the wings, Sane’s speed and direct running leaves full backs chasing shadows and this can be easily imitated by Julian Draxler and Julian Brandt.
This is all too exciting and depending on who you choose to support.

Brazil may have the flashy Neymar, France may have youthful exuberance while Portugal and Argentina will both lineup with an alien in their midst, none of these teams, or any other can boast of the depth and width of quality which is so obvious to the German team. They are the defending world champions and with the talent they’ve got, you will be advised against betting on them to retain thier crown.
