Liverpool continued their underwhelming performance since the start of the year as they suffered a 0-2 defeat in the hands of Derby rival Everton at the Anfield.

The Reds came into the derby with lots of expectation after win against Lepzig in midweek but it was watered down as early as the 3rd minutes after Richarlison’s scored for the Toffees, and was finished off by a penalty from Gylfi Sigurdsson in the 83rd minutes.

Liverpool had all the possession has they recorded 72-28% but it counted for nothing has they lacked the cutting edge and finishing touch to unlock the inspiring Everton defense.

Everton win now see them break the jinx of failing to record a victory at the Anfield since October 1999. While Liverpool on other hand fell from top four, they currently sit on 6th with goal difference separating them and Everton who have a game at hand.
