RE: Fantasy Football: Free-Agent Quarterback Moves

in #football6 years ago (edited)

Also, I just found out that a new football league will be starting in 2019 that will also have fantasy football. The Alliance of American Football will have 8 teams (locations unknown at this time). The rules will be a little different, not sure of them all yet, but there will be no kickoffs and no PATs. I guess that eliminates the need for a kicker.
Here is the actual insert from the article I read: The league will also aim for two-and-a-half hour games (N.F.L. games generally last at least three hours). To achieve that, there will be no kickoffs or extra points — only 2-point plays — and a 30-second play clock, as opposed to the N.F.L.’s 45-second clock. There will also be no television timeouts, which will lead to about 60 percent fewer commercials.

This is interesting, I have not heard of the Alliance of American Football. How interesting!

I have head the XFL will be coming back. The XFL will provide offseason football entertainment and won’t have the wonky rule changes that existed 20 years ago during its first run.

The XFL is supposed to start in 2020. This AAF is starting next year. There is also another league trying to start. The Pacific Pro Football league, which is expected to start in summer 2018, as more of a development league filled with players who want to immediately start playing a pro-style game while getting a paycheck, rather than risking injury on a college team and receiving no compensation.
We are going to have football year round it seems. Now I'll have to pick some more favorite teams.
