TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY... who went where

in #football7 years ago

Just as I pointed out here https://steemit.com/sports/@sunnyebinum/it-s-transfer-deadline-day-2017831t104740378z yesterday, the transfer deadline day didn't end without serving up some drama. Most notable among this was the report that Everton's Ross Beckley changed his mind about joining Chelsea while having a medical at the club... I mean, who does that?

Leicester's Ryan Mahrez also had is own share of the deadline day disappointment. After flying in from Algeria's world cup qualifier camp to seal a move away from the club, he watched agonizingly as not a single single bid was made for him as the window closed.
Another dramatic twist was in the case of Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez whose fate of leaving the club was never in his hands. His fate was sealed however, when Monaco's Lemar changed his mind about joining Arsenal, effectively blocking Alexis' exit to Manchester City.

![image]() But just in case you missed it all yesterday, here are the deals that went through... **Danny Drinkwater** Leicester to Chelsea **Davide Zappacosta** Torino to Chelsea **Serge Aurier** PSG to Tottenham **Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain** Arsenal to Liverpool **Renato Sanchez** Bayern Munich to Swansea **Orestis Karnezis** Udinese to Watford **Nahki Wells** Huddersfield to Burnley **Marvin Zeegelear** Sporting Lisbon to Watford **Molla Wague** Udinese to Watford **Ezequiel Schelotto** Inter Milan to Brighton **Nikola Vlasic** Hajduk Split to Everton **Aleksandar Dragovic** Bayer Leverkusen to Leicester **Tim Krul** Newcastle to Brighton **Wilfred Bony** Manchester City to Swansea **Fernando Llorente** Swansea to Tottenham **Mamadou Sakho** Liverpool to Crystal Palace

Who do you think had the best deadline day deal?

Am a man u fan

I am too. Personally, i dont believe in deadline day deals. Players are just overpriced because the buying clubs are desperate. Imagine Arsenal bidding 92million for Monaco's Thomas Lemar when they could have bought for 50million a month ago. Deadline day deals also full of dependencies. Imagine Sanchez would have joined Man City only if Arsenal secured Mahrez or Lemar. Mahrez would have left only if Leicester bought Andros Townsend from Crystal Palace. Am happy Utd didn't join the rush. No goals conceded in three outings with 10scored, we are very good just the way we are right now.

Very insightful analysis of transfer deadline day deals...
The saying... If you can do it now, why wait later?... holds very true for this deals.

Wow! That's nice @jeaniepearl. So here's a Manchester United related transfer news for you...
There were reports that Man United made a late move to sign Chelsea's Willian, the bid was effectively rejected by Chelsea

Was surprised ox chamberlain didn't make it to chelsea

Yeah. I was too. But then, Liverpool has signed him up. What a transfer window they've had at Liverpool!

I still feel LFC lack squad depth especially in the Central Back position, they also lack a solid Goalkeeper. Just my thoughts though.

He actually had his sights set on Liverpool as they were wiling to let him play his preffered position of Central Midfield compared to Chelsea who wanted to use him as a Wing Back, that was why the deal didn't go through.

Ox is still developing... I trust Klopp will more than be helpful to him at this stage of his career
