Definitivamente hay seres humanos que trabajan mejor cuando tienen la presión hasta el cuello y es el caso de Liam Lawson, la razón que me hace escribir este artículo es que es admirable como ha cambiado desde sus días en el 2024 cuando según él, Red Bull TENIA que darle el puesto de Checo solo por que Checo no estaba rindiendo hasta el punto de tener confrontaciones en la pista multiples veces y hablar de más en las entrevistas, sumamente prepotente cuando en realidad no tenía competencia en RBVCARB, no es lo mismo que Hamilton le vaya mal y que otro ya se crea mejor que Hamilton, lo que quiero decir es que TODOS los pilotos de F1 son tremendos pilotazos y Lawson le tocó aprender a las malas cuando le dieron lo que él tanto pedía y luego fue desechado por no rendir, enviado nuevamente a RBVCARB que durante la primera parte no le fue muy bien ya que la verdad Isaac Hadjar estaba barriendo el piso con Lawson hasta que se ha dado el cambio y Lawson no solamente está cargando con el equipo sino que lleva mucho mas puntos que Tsunoda, ahora no volvamos a mezclar el agua con el aceite por que una cosa es el RB21 y otra son los RBVCARB, empiezan los rumores a correr de que Lawson nuevamente a Red Bull pero lo dudo mucho, hasta el momento ningun piloto que hallan sacado le han dado la oportunidad nuevamente de volver al primer equipo. La situación de Liam es complicada por que el tipo ha demostrado que cuando las cosas le van bien pues es capaz de sumar puntos consistentemente, pero tambien ha demostrado que cuando no encuentra el balance del auto pues se vuelve un piloto promedio mas, esto lo hemos visto tanto en su corta estadía en Red Bull como en el inicio de temporada con Racing Bulls donde Isaac lo estaba superando en casi todos los aspectos

Lo increíble de todo esto es que después de que Red Bull literalmente lo mandara de vuelta a casa después de solo dos carreras el tipo tuvo que tragarse el orgullo y volver a demostrar que valía la pena, yo creo que eso marca a cualquier piloto por que al final del día nadie quiere ser recordado como el que duró menos que Pierre Gasly en Red Bull y eso es exactamente lo que le pasó a Liam, pero la diferencia esta en como reaccionó después de ese golpe. La verdad es que muchos creíamos que Liam era otro piloto mas que iba a pasar desapercibido en la F1 después de su fracaso en Red Bull, había hasta quienes decían que no debería seguir en el equipo junior por que no tenía lo necesario para competir al mas alto nivel, pero el tipo ha callado bocas de una manera bastante contundente

El momento que mas me llamó la atención fue en Hungría cuando Lawson logró mantener atrás a nada mas y nada menos que Max Verstappen por varias vueltas, sera casualidad o sera suerte? parecia pura habilidad y mentalidad fuerte por que detener al cuatro veces campeón del mundo y esto requiere no solo velocidad sino también inteligencia táctica y cojones. Lo que me parece mas interesante es que después de ese episodio Lawson no salió gritando por todos lados que era el mejor piloto del mundo como hacía antes, se mantuvo humilde y enfocado en seguir sumando puntos para su equipo, esa madurez es lo que marca la diferencia entre un piloto que va a durar en la F1 y uno que va a ser olvidado. Ahora Lawson tiene 20 puntos en lo que va de temporada comparado con los miserables 10 puntos que ha logrado Yuki Tsunoda desde que llegó a Red Bull, esos números hablan por si solos y no hay manera de justificar la diferencia tan grande entre ambos rendimientos. Pero aquí es donde la cosa se pone interesante por que según Helmut Marko todo esta abierto para el próximo año y están evaluando tanto las actuaciones positivas como las negativas de todos sus pilotos, obviamente refiriéndose a Tsunoda que no ha podido adaptarse al RB21, Lauren Mekies que ahora esta al frente del equipo principal ha sido muy claro en decir que la prioridad es darle a Yuki lo que necesita para rendir pero tambien admitió que las opciones están abiertas si las cosas no mejoran. La realidad es brutal para Tsunoda por que después de cinco años esperando su oportunidad en Red Bull finalmente la consiguió pero en el peor momento posible, con un auto que parece imposible de manejar para cualquiera que no sea Verstappen, y bueno considerando las ultimas carreras hasta para Verstappen en un dia no tan bueno.

Lawson ha terminado en puntos tres veces en las ultimas cuatro carreras y ha sido consistentemente mas rápido que Hadjar después de las mejoras técnicas que le hicieron al auto, pero en lugar de reconocer su progreso la mayoría de comentarios se enfocan en recordar su fracaso en Red Bull como si eso fuera lo único que define su carrera. La verdad es que Lawson está demostrando exactamente lo que todos queremos ver de un piloto joven, capacidad de aprendizaje, resistencia mental y sobre todo resultados cuando tiene las herramientas adecuadas, no es tanto de ser inteligente para darse cuenta que tienen un diamante en bruto que solo necesita el ambiente correcto para brillar pero mas de un milagro para que le vuelvan a dar el pusto en Red Bull. Pero conociendo como funciona Red Bull probablemente van a seguir dándole oportunidades a pilotos que no han demostrado nada mientras ignoran a quien realmente está rindiendo, es la típica mentalidad de que si ya lo intentaste una vez y no funcionó entonces no mereces otra oportunidad sin importar lo mucho que hayas mejorado después

What I find most unfair about this whole situation is how some media outlets and fans continue to belittle what Lawson is currently doing. The guy is having one of the best runs of any driver on the grid considering the car he's driving, and yet no one seems to talk about it because everyone is obsessed with the Red Bull drama and Verstappen's possible departure. Lawson has finished in the points three times in the last four races and has been consistently faster than Hadjar after the technical improvements made to the car, but instead of recognizing his progress, most comments focus on reminding us of his failure at Red Bull as if that were the only thing that defines his career. The truth is that Lawson is showing exactly what we all want to see from a young driver: the ability to learn, mental toughness, and above all, results when he has the right tools. It's not so much about being smart enough to realize that they have a diamond in the rough who just needs the right environment to shine, but more than a miracle for them to give him his job back at Red Bull. But knowing how Red Bull works, they'll probably continue to give opportunities to drivers who haven't proven anything while ignoring those who are actually performing. It's the typical mentality that if you tried once and it didn't work, then you don't deserve another chance, no matter how much you've improved since then.
