Paleontologists study animals that died millions of years ago. Some species were very strange.

                                                  Ounalashkastylus tomidai

Fossils of a previously unknown animal was discovered only in 2015. Scientists believe the creature lived on our planet about 23 million years ago. The researchers were able to establish that the size of the animal is comparable to modern hippopotamus. What is surprising is that Ounalashkastylus tomidai swallowed the vegetation mouth, pulling at his jaws. He was swimming like a polar bear, and moved on land like a big sloth. Fed on grass, algae and other plants.

                                                                                    Tyrannosaurus rex

Tyrannosaurus had the best eyesight among other creatures of the time. Watched the movie "Jurassic Park"? The Director has focused on the fact that the dinosaur was only seen moving subjects, but it is really fantastic. Researchers found that Tyrannosaurus had a binocular range of 55 degrees. For example, the eyesight of an eagle is better than the man in 3,5 times, and Tyrannosaurus rex 13 times. The dinosaur was able to distinguish objects at a distance of 6 km. A person can distinguish objects only at a distance of 1.5 km. A certain group of scientists believe that the Tyrannosaurus Rex was one of the hunters, not predators.

                                                                                   "Four-legged" snake

In one of the German museums can be found fossils of a snake with 4 legs. One of the experts David Martell called the discovery of the ancestor of all existing snakes. A distinctive feature of fossil creatures – 4 feet. Science met a snake with 2 legs, but 4, never. It is established that the creature lived on earth about 120 million years ago. Scientists suggest that the feet were used for movement and for grabbing prey.

                                                                                Diplodocus

A distinctive feature of the Diplodocus tail-like whip, which has been able to break the sound barrier. Scientists have modeled the behavior of a dinosaur and found out that swinging its long tail, the animal could disperse its tip up to 1200 km/h. this created a noise like modern guns. Paleontologists have discovered that many of the finds tails damaged, which may indicate that dinosaurs are constantly spinning their tails.

                                                                                    Dinosaur with tiny handles

The carnotaurus had very small front legs, powerful hind legs and body. The habitat of a large theropod – day southern Africa. Scientists suggest that the front paws was almost not visible, because of the huge body and head with horns. Modern paleontologists are still wondering why carnotaur had such small hands
