Dementia village - a dream becoming reality in Netherland

in #fourthage7 years ago

There is a village in Netherland, called Hogeweyk near Amsterdam, built for people with dementia, where all is adjusted to them and to memory problems and more than that, sounds incredible, all is financed by the State.

The project is running from 2009, expanding in 2016 also in Italy and hoping soon also in other countries, because everybody should know, that 1 of 3 born in 2015 will die with or for dementia and it will come the day in which the big politician will start to talk about "Foruth Age of life", as dementia age in which all should be adjusted to improve our life.

But for the moment seems still a dream outside this little experimental village in Netherland and somewhere in Italy too...

sure it is, our living time has extended and with that also some new torubles, like dementia becoming more popular and for the moment no cure at all, so time to invest in research because this is becoming the silent killer of the future
