Bonjour à tous !
Hi everyone!

Rochelaure is the great leader ofEnu, Citara's first city. From the very first chapters, the heroine can't stand him! This great strategist and leader knows how to be haughty and unbearable, to always plan in his corner... while saying he acts for the greater good. I will let you discover at the reading if he keeps his promises ;)

I took up the facial features several times at Nathalie's request, because she planned the display on e-readers and the image had to be readable even in small format.
There you go :D ! Rochelaure will be the illustration of this series that gave me the most trouble. Fortunately, I achieved a result that was acceptable to my client long before I lost it.
This collaboration went very well. I imagine that being a fan of the universe greatly helps to draw it faithfully. It will be with great pleasure that I will repeat the experience for Volume 3.
Thanks again to Nathalie for her confidence, and thanks to you Steemiens for your support :)
à bientôt ^^ !
See you soon ^^ !

I love all the details in the final piece! The shadows look amazing!
To be fair I liked the first hairstyle as well, it gave him more of a villain-y feel xd that is.. if the character is indeed one ;D
The amour and the strategy table are my favorite though. They look so detailed, it gives the piece a great sense of feel.
Thank you very much ^^

Great! I'm happy that your client approved this work. I can't imagine the client actually wouldn't approve it as it's amazing. All the time, effort and detail that you put into it. The details on the table, the candles, his armor and his face.. amazing!
Thank you very much !
Sometimes, the writer and the illustrator don't have the same idea of a character, that's why I always do preparating sketches with different postures and styles. Then the writer can guide me to the version that best matches what he has in mind.
When I drew my very first order (a medieval-fantasy fight scene), I went straight to the top and the atmosphere was not at all what my client had imagined. I had to redesign all the characters, change the coloring and it took me a long time. I'm avoiding making that mistake again now!
Glad that you learned on your own mistakes :) It's important to understand that you have to co-operate with the client for the result that would be good for you both :)
