This past weekend my family attended Elf Fest at Lothlorien Nature Sanctuary, in southern Indiana. I had been talking about Lothlorien with my friend Adam Kokesh, who is running for the presidential nomination in the Libertarian Party on the platform of a peaceful, orderly dissolution of the entire federal government. It has been my opinion for a long time that the people involved with this wonderful nature preserve have many Libertarian ideas. It has been my goal to bring a more official Libertarian presence to the land. Adam took me up on that idea. I wrote about his visit here- https://steemit.com/freedom/@marcus.pulis/welcome-home-the-freedom-movement-arrives-at-lothlorien

This certainly was a successful attempt at outreach. I will admit, that part of the success was due to the fact that I personally am pretty well known, and have been attending festivals and other events for around 8 years. Many people know me, and my friends as the people with the crystal skull. We walk around every festival with a crystal skull filled with rum and ask people if they would like a drink dedicated to the god of death, dance, and sex, Gede. Every day is a good day with Gede.

Some friends of mine, who are supporters, my family, and myself manned the booth. Smiling faces walked by and stopped in to find out what we were about. Some people knew my opinions on politics and government, others did not.

Everyone, I think, was happy to hear about the Libertarian views on many topics. In this community, it is obvious that we share the same opinion on the drug war, end it now. I think they were more surprised about our stand against war, end it now. The police state troubles both of our communities, end it now. Other things we could agree on, was things like personal liberty. The government violates it all the time. Gay marriage, why again does the State get to decide who can get married? Violence unless in self-defense, whether from the government or the individual is wrong. Lothlorien also had the opportunity to see that Libertarians care about the environment as well. It really does boil down to- don't hurt and don't steal!

It also was fun seeing Lothlorien impress Adam, Stacy, and Josh. While sitting at the booth, Josh was talking to an older woman about Milton Friedman, the free market economist. Adam talked with people about the land itself and how it grew to what it is today. Stacy played my drum, learned a beat, and had a blast with the elves. I look forward to Adam returning next year and getting more time to interact.

I also have to thank everyone at Lothlorien for the warm welcome, especially Jef Stelzner who helped with the logistics of the visit. As always the land was my home away from home. It was nice to see that same land, just as I thought it would, open its arms to freedom and welcome some new elves who are not that different, they just use the title Libertarian.

These last few pics are our team here in Indiana that are also involved with Lothlorien. I want to thank everyone for their help.
