I agree that the war on drugs has done more harm than good.
I always say, that people who are addicted to drugs and want help, should be able to get help WITHOUT getting locked in a cage!
That way, people who are struggling with addiction, will not be too scared to seek the help they need in the first place.

..and end the tyranny of the state so people will want to live in a real world rather than drugs induced euphoria. There is a reason people turn to drugs, that being no hope of being who you are capable of being, being robbed by taxation, controlled at every turn, being unable to do anything without permission just to name a few. Is it surprising that people aren't happy? Fighting the symptom will not solve the problem and the war on drugs is a war on the symptom!
Simple common sense but nah! Let's make everyone's lives much harder and enrich ourselves at the same time! - Government.
