So well said, Stacey, all of it!
Her ethical compass disabled - pointing only in one direction, his.
I hear a poem in there!
If only switching out a sister-in-law were as easy as switching out a muffler.
You have such a flair with words. :)
Thank you!

May you never hear his voice again

That too sounds like an opening line to a story or poem. :)
It's... iambic pentameter, right? Or.... oh dear, I have to look it up!!

Iambic Pentameter is made up of two words, where pentameter is a combination of 'pent,' which means five, and 'meter,' which means to measure. Iambi is a metrical foot in poetry in which an unstressed syllable is followed by a stressed syllable. It means iambic pentameter is a beat or foot that uses 10 syllables in each line.
WHO COUNTS - 10 syllables - I will never be a poet!!!
Ok, only 9 syllables in May you never hear his voice again - but the pentameter is iambic, no?
OMG
How can it be both iambic AND pentameter....
I'm hanging it up for the night!
