Footprints In The Snow - Pt. 2
After making her way up the embankment, Keri was fading in and out of consciousness fast. Her vision was going in and out, and she was bleeding lightly from a wound on the back of her head.
Day had turned into the late evening, and she didn't know where the time went. She barely remembered her heavy coat from inside the car. The temperature was falling and the snow is continuing to pile up with ever step she took.
"If I had only had grabbed my backpack, I would at least have some tools to make a fire, and rest for a bit." she mumbled to herself in low tones.
She was disappointed in how she was handling this situation, to say the least. Her father Brian had been teaching Keri survival skills ever since she reached double digits in age.
"In a crisis, the first thing to go is common sense." Brian would often remind her.
Her trek through the snow was no easy feat, and the terrain was working against her. It seemed like she was climbing ever higher up a mountain, trees and vegetation becoming sparse. Her skin was ice cold, and she was starting to shiver badly.
"I hope to God, that I don't get frostbite! I have enough skin problems as is." She muttered to herself, trying to bring some humor into this dreadful situation.
She was desperately trying to keep her eyes open as long as possible. The last she needed to do right now, was totally lose consciousness.
And my five minutes are up! This is Cliffhanger Pt. 2... and that's it for the freewrite. I will be hoping for more keywords that fit, to conclude this story in one or two more parts hopefully. LoL :D
