That was the sound of my five year old, running up the stairs towards my bedroom. I had promised her that I would bring her to the park just down the street from our apartment block once the rain stopped. I was hoping that the rain would never stopped or at least until the sunsets. Then, perhaps it would be too dark for anyone to walk down the streets.

How wrong was I to think that I could control the weather! No one could.
I opened my eyes and looked around. The sun was shining down brightly on my face. Recollecting myself and sitting up on the bed, I told myself that I must've dozed off and taken a nap longer than expected.
I was in a nursing home or have been for several years now. Looking down on my wrinkled hands, I remembered that specific day. That day where I lost it all. I was Mommy. I had a baby girl and I lost her. I lost her in the park.
And it's all TRUE !
