Time to continue the story that all started with the turbine.
Sarah's eyes suddenly opened, and for a moment she forgot where she was. Blinking a few times, everything seemed quiet. Slowly but surely, she started to become aware of noises around her. The humming of a turbine running. A turbine? Ross must have got it working. But wait, where was he? The last thing Sarah could remember, she had jumped to avoid the frothing freak, salivating at the mouth to get her. What had happened since the fall?
Slowly Sarah started to rise to her feet. Pain shot through her right shoulder. More than likely she had broken or dislocated something. Nevertheless, she forced herself up. The world around her started to swim, and the ground began to shake. It was like an earthquake, throwing her off of her feet. She fell, slamming her right hand on the ground, a massive jolt of pain shooting up it. Sarah grimaced. It felt like an earthquake. That was a good analogy. It felt like an earthquake in her head too. She thought of her children again. Ross too. He was a good friend. But what if he had abandoned her? Or, what if he had been hurt by the freak?
Most of all, what was Sarah going to do, given she could barely struggle to get up on her feet?
I like the idea of a running story. Have you considered linking the other ones?
