Ah, the Spartans. Great analogy. In your photo, they are arrayed in a shield wall formation called a Phalanx. The Phalanx demonstrated to the ancient world the power of 'working as one.' To counter its effects, the Athenians had to build high walls and a navy.
Eventually, all good things come to an end and it was defeated. At the Battle of Leuctra, a brilliant Theban General named Epaminondas departed from tradition and employed history's first example of 'manoeuvre warfare' ... defeating the undefeatable and demonstrating to the ancient world that 'brains beat brawn,' even in war.
Three years later, Sparta was a shattered husk and would never recover. Strategy matters.
Both lessons need to be learned by the STEEM/Steemit Whales and Witnesses who instead march to war armed with little more than an ideology ... 'Crypto-Anarchism.' No Rulers, No Rules. Decentralization irrespective of the consequences.
History is adamant: Armies lacking great leadership ... get destroyed.
Thanks for the mention.
