Good morning all, doing my 5 minutes free writing with prompt - Mud in the Eye. Hope you enjoy the story.
I had a funny observation in the office these days, a lot of us are getting mud in the eye when we are blurred by leadership with a net disadvantage in the name of a good one, why so? Even though the company is profiting healthy, but the executive whose pay package is decide mostly by the number on the board of the major trading market, always comes down to cost saving, not willing to approve any expenditure without return of investment plan within a year.
Rank and file workers are getting more and more unhappy on the ground, as with cost saving and cost cutting means our way of working is very much impacted as a lot of current practice has to be relook into for cost saving opportunity and that means more paperwork and longer procedure and waiting time involved for the same task.
Recently, the promotion cycle concluded and the promoted folks have their work schedule and allowances reviewed, in fact, they feel like they got mud in the eye as they holds a seemingly higher position or grading but in fact their new pay check is reduced. This is a big deal.
