Today we are going to discuss about cultism, cultism us very common with our youth in some of our society. A cult is the gathering of a group of people the same beliefs, whose plans are carried out in secret, cultist do their plan secret because it so punishable by the law. while cultism is therefore the process where by people cooperate and indulge in secret to commit illegal activities e. g killing, fraud, rape e.t.c .cultism is a growing rampant in our society, certain groups of people who are dropout and unemployed come together as one and carried out dangerous atrocity which can lead to insecurity, today cultism have spread so far that even in secondary schools we see a lot of cultist there, cultist activities are always negative, they kill a lot of people, you hear of cult fight when two cults are fighting it cause killing of so many souls.

A characteristics of a cultist is the features a cultist exhibit, if you are a cultist they were you appear people might known that you are a cultist.
• A cultist is violent: for someone to be in a cult he or she fellow cult members will activate violence in you, How new members are beaten new cult members are beaten with sticks to stir up violence, so cultist is exhibit this kind of violence behaviour.
• A cultist dress indecently: A cultist is easily known by the way he or she dress, boys who are cultist sags, they cult their hair scuffle and they wear rugged dresses, while girls cult their hair rashly, they wear exposing dress and the most important is that they try to dress or behave like boys.
• A cultist abuse drug: A cultist must always be a drug addict, smoking is the first step of becoming a cultist, a cultist must smoke or drink for him to be accepted into the society.

Causes of cultism
• Family background: If your family background is poor then the risk of being a cultist is very high, it is not all people who come from poor homes that are cultist, there are those who came from poor homes but are well enlightened that are living very free, rich people who are not well enlightened may certainly join cult, so your family matters a lot.
• peer pressure:** your peer play very important roles in your life, like sixty to seventy percent of your problems are discussed between you and your peer group, so if your peers belong to a cultist they will want to influence you to join them but you should be wise enough to resist them.
• Unemployment:** so many people join cult because they are unemployed, when they don't have a job, they join cult because they can oppress people and take their property from them.
Effect of cultism
cultism has many bad effects to the society, some of them which are :
• killing of innocent people
• Rape
• kindnaping
• fraud
• Threat
• Robbery
Prevention of cultism
• parents should ensure that they educate their children about cultism, they should first to talk to them since the home is the beginning of learning so parents should start telling them about cultism early enough.

• The church/mosque ,the church or mosque should also practice this education among the children so that they will know how important the the education of cultism is.
• The school, since the school is the main center of education they should be the one to provide essential knowledge about cultism to the students, they should tell them the means/ways of resisting peer pressure since it is the most common way of joining cultism.
• Government should ensure that they play their role in fighting against cultism, cult members should pay the price when caught and they should be punished according to the law, most importantly government should provide employment for the youths since 60 percent of unemployed youths are cultist.
