I had to hand it to him. As a speaker, Andy was stunning. His speech about what the keys to learning were and how to study and learn about history was far beyond what the professors wanted to hear. They sermonized among themselves about the vessel they were on and how it stank like a Master-Mind Success Characteristics group that Gilbert, the unwanted black that they had to take on board to make the board more diversified in the eyes of the public, had cooked up in the laboratory of his monkey mind.
Not predestined fate awaited Andy, but one that he hand deliver to himself while performing up on the podium in from of them, the peer power, the supposed role models & mentors of high society. Andy had spoken to me about his goals and how he would work on bringing them to fruition. This being the first step.
I didn't understand his full intent until I heard the speech and witnessed the jaws dropping, glasses slamming down on the table, heads turning as he ended his speech on a high note, "And that is why we should kick out the white man."
Andy, who was given the name by his adoptive parents after they decided Sakuma Yoriyuki wasn't a proper name for a child, was bullied because he didn't look like the others. The teachers made him work harder, many students excluded him as an outcast, the town had closed many doors in his face because he was Japanese. His thinking, creativity, memory, and intelligence got him through the world fine enough. He lived for the fight.
"This is the big test I am supposed to pass?" he asked the security guard that came to remove him from the podium. "The way I have utilized the power of questions makes you uncomfortable?" Andy showed complete confidence in what he was saying without getting into all of the details that they already knew. Their motivation to get rid of such a good speaker was in their self interest. If Andy knew that he had the power to have men follow him by the use of his words, then they, the board of directors, would have a student revolt on their hands, perhaps the whole town.
For once, I saw what the old guys saw. I knew what I must, what we must do to turn the tables, turn over skeletons, empty some closets.
I followed out the security guard with my iPhone out as he held Andy's arm, escorting him out.
"No camera's allowed," he snorted.
"Let go of my friend and I think about it," I responded.
As if turning his head to keep a face of bugs from splattering across his face, he turned so that I could only see the back of his head. When we were at the double doors, the guard pushed the door open, pushed Andy out, and pointed for me to follow.
Andy had a few choice words for the guard before the guard, who was also from another country, slammed the door shut.
Her sweat trickled down her neck as she came out of the shadows and over to us.
"You boys have a mission, some sort of score to settle?" She wore red fingernail polish, her veins stuck out on her arms like a weight lifter, her hair was pulled back, slick and tight.
"Take a number, Lady," said Andy. "Start back about a hundred years and we arrive here to our destination, one that represses and suppress the truth in order to remain on the top." Andy through his jacket over his shoulder to emphasize his point. "Ya. I'd say we're on a mission alright."
"Good. Then follow me. Let me take you to your new boss."
The woman held out an envelope. Andy took it, opened it, and showed me a wad of cash.
"We've been looking for someone like you, kid. We need a speaker like yourself."
This was all too good to be true, I thought but Andy didn't want to think about it. He wanted to see what opportunity lay before him; I could see it in his eyes without him having to say it. He looked at me and nodded.
He took me by the shirt and pulled me along behind the woman as she got into the back of the car and moved over to allow both of us in.
Where do we go from here, I wondered. We were now on an expedition I'd thought of only minutes ago.

I hope you continue this! What is the woman with the red nails up to?
Yes, what is she up to?
Really great story of how what is not wanted gets treated in society @tristancarax, and great cliffhanger with the lady at the end, makes me wonder where to next, it's awesome.
This post is AWESOME!
It has therefore got a manual 100% upvote from @thisisawesome, for the Awesome Daily Upvotes in category Freewrite, I give out 1 such vote in that category per day, plus 3 more in other categories, and your post will also be featured in todays Awesome Daily report for more visibility.
The goal of this project is to "highlight Awesome Content, and growing the Steem ecosystem by rewarding it".
Part of this came from the new "IP Man" movie that just came out in theaters. Good movie.
Thanks @tristancarax, and now you have made me interested in the movie lol, keep creating awesome content.
Hi tristancarax,
Visit curiesteem.com or join the Curie Discord community to learn more.
hi dear @tristancarax, even if short, I really liked your story. above all I liked the message of the power of the word, even if it can be understood in different ways. however, being able to take revenge is always a great satisfaction !! congratulations on your work and on your curie vote
Not on our Steem blockchain nearly as much as I used to be @tristancarax, "stopping in" to see how you are doing. Very nice to see you have won a coveted Curie upvote for your efforts. Nice! 😊
All the best to you and yours for the New Year. May it be considerably better for those of us who have chosen to invest our "time and treasure" into this fascinating new technology, than was 2019 ... 👍
Hey mate, I do hope all is going well. Nice of you to stop by. Yes, Curie has been very generous toward me. I only hope to continue to produce content that they find valuable; actually, that most people find valuable. I'll continue to do my best and let that take me where it does.
I hear you on not being on as much. I was doing a freewrite once a day for about a year before the new forking update. That kind of pissed me off with how they cut us, the little people, down past the size that we already were. I'm still here though. This place has been good to me beyond the above complaint.
Since my birthday in November, things have already felt different than they have been for me over the past years.
May 202 be kind to you, @roleerob. Until we speak again, do take care.
Very good @tristancarax. Thank you for the well wishes. 😊
I was happy for you to read this:
May your journey through life, as well as "in here," continue with an "onward and upward" trajectory! 👍
Andy sure is adventurous!
Hi, @tristancarax. I had some time without reading you for my almost null internet connection. Obviously, this is not a finished story. It is the beginning of a great story. I see about 4 ways to continue (for the dramatic knots) but I know that you have already written the next chapter.
With anxiety I will wait for the continuation. A big hello
I'm happy to hear that the internet pulled through for you to be able to read this and leave a message. 8-)
Yeah, about that next chapter... if I would get away from steemnova, a steemit space game, then, yeah... that might get done. lol
I will do something more and tag you when it is completed. I don't promise a great story, only the best that I can do when I write it.
