A Simple Sunday That Turned Into Something Special

Hi guys, this is Vic again! It’s been such a busy month, and honestly, I’ve been caught up with so many things lately because, of course, we’re working hard for the future. Even though we give our best here in the Philippines, the salary is still quite low—just being real about it. Anyway, it’s actually Sunday, and I ended up taking a quick selfie while enjoying the food we bought (which wasn’t cheap, by the way!). At least I always have these two with me to share the moment, even if my wallet cries a little.

We went to a restaurant for pizza and some delicious heavy food for our Sunday treat. Charlotte ended up joining us because she rode the same jeepney with us, and since she didn’t have money yet, we offered to treat her. So here we are—though honestly, I was expecting just Jollibee because I’m on a budget. But of course, my two friends brought us to a restaurant instead, which made me withdraw cash earlier than planned. Haysss, what can I do?

Look at Johny—he still chose the more expensive food, nakuhhh! Now I’m really caught between eating and spending, myghad. What was supposed to be Jollibee turned into bigger expenses, hayss. This is just too much! But anyway, never mind—we just divided the bill since Charlotte was also with us, so the three of us went half-half. The timing though, I haven’t even received my salary yet. Hahaha!

But in fairness, the ambiance was really nice! The design felt good, it smelled fresh, and the place was so calm. I was actually amazed because it’s just a small, cozy spot—simple but clean and neat. They really take care of the place, and the staff were very accommodating. I also appreciated it more because it was so hot on the way there, but once we stepped inside, the air-conditioning made everything feel calm and relaxing.

We had to wait quite a while before we could even decide what to order—huhu, I was already so hungry! I hadn’t eaten anything since morning, so it felt like I could eat a person out of hunger, hahaha. I even told them to hurry up because the waiter still had to prepare and serve the food. It really took some time before the food finally came out, and I honestly couldn’t wait anymore because my stomach was crying already.

And finally, we got to order! While waiting, we even switched seats so our faces were directly toward the serving area—hahaha, at least the food wouldn’t have to travel far when served. Loved it! The aircon was also giving so much comfort. Still, I couldn’t help but secretly crave already while waiting. But of course, there was nothing else to do but wait, so I just kept looking around the place to distract myself instead of focusing on my hungry stomach.

Our orders finally started arriving, guys! And that wasn’t even everything yet, but because of hunger, we just had to start eating little by little—my stomach seriously couldn’t wait any longer, ayy! I was so hungry that I immediately dug in, and of course, my friends did the same. There were still some dishes being prepared that hadn’t been served yet, but I was already eyeing the pizza and couldn’t stop craving it. Still, you know what they say—rice is life! No matter what, rice can never be missing from the table. It’s the ultimate comfort food, especially when you’re super hungry like I was. Even though we were waiting for the rest of the food, I was already so satisfied to finally eat after holding back my hunger for hours. Truly, nothing beats the joy of eating together with friends, even if the budget gets stretched a little.

What a perfect timing! On our way home, we unexpectedly saw this vlogger couple with their kids. It was such a surprise because we actually watch their vlogs. The husband is a foreigner but speaks Bisaya so fluently, which makes their content even more fun to watch. I really looked for their name online before and remembered it—Family Abilla. When we saw them at the restaurant, we decided to wait until after they ordered, just to respect their privacy. Still, we didn’t want to miss the chance, so we asked if it was okay to take a picture with them. Thankfully, they were so kind and agreed. It felt so nice because it’s not every day you get to meet vloggers you actually follow. The best part? They even reposted my MyDay! I was like, “Woow!” Such a simple but memorable highlight of the day.

All in all, this Sunday turned out to be full of surprises. From expecting just Jollibee to ending up in a restaurant, laughing with friends, sharing the bill, and enjoying the food despite the budget struggles—it was still worth it. Add to that the cozy ambiance, the aircon comfort, and the excitement of meeting Family Abilla in person, it truly became a day to remember. Sometimes, it’s the unexpected moments that make life more colorful. At the end of the day, it’s not just about the food but the memories we create with people around us.
