I think that's why Dave's mind automatically went to bacon! The eggplant definitely did turn out quite savory and delicious. I never would have thought I'd be such a BBQ gal, but now that I've got a basic formula I'll never buy store-bought again! So much better with fresh, seasonal ingredients. :)

I can totally relate Katie. .......I make my own BBQ sauce too, but I use organic ketchup as a base. However, I may try your recipe next time :)
