No doubts were all aware of the selfless help and support @fundition has helped lots of projects on the steem blockchain. I'll be pinpointing some crucial steps founders should keen on when requesting or scouting for support from donors. Incase were still perplexed and confused on about @fundition is, i'll briefly explain it to us;
@fundition is the next-generation, decentralized, peer-to-peer crowdfunding and collaboration platform, built on the Steem blockchain. Our aim is to replace old centralized models (such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, Patreon, or GoFundMe), and offer a way for individuals and organizations to either fundraise for, or give to meaningful projects.
Below are some of the crucial steps founders should practice when scouting for donors
- Half of the funds were contributed by people and not all of them are rich;
Being a member or a founder of a charity project, you should have it at the back of your mind that the funds being donated to your project, approximately 60% of the donors aren't wealthy. Remember it's a willing exercise. Sixteen years ago (2012) an estimated figure of $241 billion were donated to charity projects, out of that gigantic figure 84.2% of that figure were inclined by individuals. These are all humans, when it comes to giving age, gender, profession isn't needed.
Nevertheless, it is quite cumbersome and laborious to assemble folks who are willing to give their hard earned income to some projects all in the name of charity. Reason being fundraising is apparently a profession or an occupation and this clearly demands seriousness and trust. Don't jeopardize your project all in the name of greed or trying to play smart on your donors, use the funds given for the requested cause if peradventure some funds are left after the exercise; don't squander it all for something outside the cause. Also, remember your work should be transparent in order to foster your trust.
- Apprehension from donors should be clearly understood by founders that they have their reasons;
Humans naturally are products of their surrounding or an encounter in life. Apprehension towards money is learned and it can also be unlearned. For those of us who have kids or are always around kids, we might have observed that they have no trouble nor difficulties in requesting for anything most especially, money. As a matter of fact, if you tell the child NO, they'll keep asking and asking and if they noticed you aren't responding the way they want they'll reword their request, (I'll use it on books) sometimes they offer a deal ( How about i clean your shoes or wash the dishes) by so doing they are already standing in the gap to be paid for their labor.
Basically, everything we ponder and fathom about money have been learned. Permit me top say this, none of this apprehension is natural or should i say hereditary.
In other words, our stance in the direction of fundraising solely depends on what we think money is. So therefore, in order for us to get a crystal clear definition about fundraising is the fact that success in fundraising has no respect for how much money you raised, instead it centers on how many people were contacted. So therefore, your project will gain fame and support depending on the number of people you asked.
