We all have those mates that love themselves to death and need to be dropped down a peg or two. His name is Mike and had known him for years. He loved to think he was God's gift to women.
Valentine's day was a few days away and he was on my target list this year. I spoke to his wife informing her of my plan and that she mustn't worry if he acts strangely over the next few days. I went out and purchased a valentines card ( not normal for me as I am married) and wrote some loving words on the card. I sprayed it with perfume and popped it into their post box. I knew he would lap it up and would have no clue that it was a set up.
If he wasn't so blinded by his love for himself he would have seen the stitch up. I had told him to walk the dog in the evening wearing his tight shorts.I had said that I was a secret admirer and had seen him around a few times. These shorts are legendary amongst his friends as they are so small that everything pops out and it is not a great sight.

I popped in on Valentines day for a cup of coffee in the evening and spent most of the evening alone with his wife and my wife while he was out walking the dog. He had no idea we all knew what was going on and it was so hard to keep a straight face. He let me in to his "secret' saying he had no idea who it could be. The perfume on the card had done the trick as he didn't recognize its smell. I had used one of my wives old perfume bottles that was lying around.
Over the coming days the dog benefited from extra walks around the neighborhood which probably did them both some good . Maybe he was looking for twitching curtains or a chance meeting with a lady walking her dog. I have no idea but he must have been disappointed anyway. The ones that knew the joke played along for a few weeks and finally let him down. We should have kept it going for a while longer as the dog was getting plenty of exercise and sometimes up to 3 walks an evening.
It just goes to show you how easy certain people are as their own vanity gets in the way. Most of my pranks work as it is normally planned around the persons character finding their weaknesses.

What did his wife say about his behaviour after?
I was waiting for that question. At the time I thought nothing of it but he had a couple of affairs and I am not surprised. She wasn't shocked about his behaviour.
I wouldn't want to be his wife at least.
Me neither. I asked her first though and showed her what I was doing. Could have caused all sorts of problems when I think back now.

Honestly can't remember because I was laughing too much. Harmless joke but was good fun. He thought he was so hot women would be watching him walk the dog. What a dip stick.
