Brother. I get the joke but only one thing so the joke actually hits strong. Don't over explain it. Use the k.i.s.s. method. By the time you get to the satire the reader will be over indulged in explanations. The key to satire is to not over explain too much. I love that your roasting midwits/leftists, but as a reader and author of my own satire this is the advice I give you which is what I worked on as well when it was told to me.
