Tesla Self driving Cars are Here! My ideas + Elon Musk

This is what we think the future looks like! Fortunately this is no longer the future!

Does the idea of jumping into your car, punching in your destination, falling asleep and arriving someone the other side of the country seem abit crazy! Not going to lie, it does to me and it feels like this technology is a long away right?

It turns out Elon Musk recently came out on Tedx and said this technology will be standard in all Tesla cars by 2020 with the risk of crashing with one in one hundred lifetimes! The Model X SUV will be the first of many self-driving cars with this model being released at the end of 2017! Wait, that's 6 months! Here is a photo, Not as crazy as the BMW prototype but this is an actual working model!

This seems like an overestimate. The issue with the statement is that Elon Musk said it, he has a reputation for usually underestimated projects when before people thought it was overestimated! This is what is getting me excited. This technology really is just round the corner, with exponential growth in technology and higher demand for efficient, safe transportation. The idea of being driven around by an invisible shofer will be a reality faster than we thoughtt! The future really is now. Alongside some other tunneling ideas Elon Musk has for big cities, the roads could be very safe and very productive parts of the day! Beats being stuck in traffic smoking a cigarette to relieve the stress of being late for work aye!

This Technology does raise a few querreys:

Would you trust it?

How safe is it really?

Insurance?

Price Tag?

All the questions are valid.
In my opinion, it will probably take a few years for people to adopt. With high prices and uncertainty, younger generations will embrace this technology first while older generations waiting around to see the results.

If Tesla can push safety as the main priority and show impressive statists to back it up, then I see a very bright future. Think of it this way, machines in general today do a much better job than humans.

Look at the manufacturing industry, plastics industry, printing industry etc, they have all eliminated human error with automation and machine power to push the industries to new unprecedented heights. They are dependent on technology. It does seem like a natural progression for application into transportation, just how Elon put it. Today human error on the roads is a huge problem with 3000 people dying a year in the UK alone. That's like 911 every year! Crazy!

Maybe it's inevitable that self-driving cars will eliminate human error out of driving, just how machines/automation transformed the manufacturing industry? People getting in a car with a human driver might seem absurd in the future? Too high risk!

The application of self-driving vehicles will revolutionize delivery and heavy goods movement. It will be cheaper for Business's to transport goods and journeys will be completed in a fraction of the time. This will probably significantly boost the economy and make the world even more efficient!

There's a lot more to go into but....

All in all its a very exciting time for transportation, who knows what will eventually happen and how it will all play out, all we know is it's exciting! buckle up because we are in for a ride!

Absolutely going to take over the planet. Haha. They were told they needed 6,000,000,000 miles of data... Easy enough right. Lol. 1 per person on the planet almost.

such an exciting time, Elon Musk is a true mastermind if he can pull off his dreams! How long until you think it will fully take over?

Probably 20-25 years. People will want to drive their own cars for a while.
